Sip straws are made from natural ingredients: 95% corn starch and 5% rice. Our black straws are coloured with 0.2% vegetable carbon black (natural dye) and our coloured straws are coloured with 0.01% compound food colour (complies with FDA and EU standards).

Sip straws are about the same length and diameter of standard-size straws and bubble tea straws. Sip straws are hard and very durable. Since they are made of natural ingredients (corn starch and rice), they may soften in liquid after 2 hours but this does not affect their functional use.

We would love for everyone to use Sip straws, however our product may not be suitable for those who require a bendable straw, or those who like to bite or chew their straws. We recommend adult supervision for young children.

Keep them in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Use within 18 months of opening.

Sip straws are edible based on their ability to be cooked and digested but we wouldn’t recommend eating them.

Sip straws are best suited for cold beverages as they will last longer. We do not recommend using Sip straws in hot liquids.

Once used, you can simply throw them in the bin or add them to your compost. They will break down naturally, like a leaf.

While all compostable material is biodegradable, not all biodegradable material is compostable. The great news is Sips are both. Once you’re done you can put your straw in the trash or pop them into your compost!
